Job Description:

Quality and Food Safety Technologist (12 months FTC)

Reporting to: Site R&D Manager

Location: Melton Mowbray, fill-time on-site

Salary range: £31,000 - £37,500 (dependin gon the level of experience), annual bonus, benefits

This position is responsible for leading the quality and food safety program and driving operational excellence. you’ll be responsible for turning quality data into actionable insights - analysing performance metrics, uncovering opportunities for improvement, and reporting impactful KPIs to stakeholders.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for working across functions to implement, maintain, and improve the site QMS,

  • Identification and prioritization of continuous improvement/gap closure workstreams.

  • Driving internal and external audit programs and LRQA/external accreditation activities.

  • Deliver Q&FS training to associates from all functions

  • Act as a member of Product Related Incident Management Process (PRIMP) team.

  • Act as HACCP team member

  • Reporting and analysis of key quality metrics (incl. consumer complaints, Right First Time, product performance etc.), and the identification/implementation of activities required to improve performance and deliver against targets.

  • Customer complaint investigation

  • Incident investigations and CAPA implementation

  • Perform traceability exercise

  • Actively participate in regional Q&FS communities.

What are we looking for?

  • A degree in Food Science/Technology or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in R&D, Quality, or Food Safety, ideally with exposure to audits or Quality Management Systems.

  • Strong collaboration skills — you know how to engage, influence, and motivate teams at all levels.

  • A continuous improvement mindset with the curiosity to explore new ways to make things even better.
