Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Conveyancing Assistant to support our legal team specialising in property transactions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the administrative aspects of conveyancing processes, ensuring smooth and efficient property transfers for our clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career within property law, providing valuable experience in a professional environment. Responsibilities

  • Assisting solicitors and licensed conveyancers with preparing and reviewing legal documents related to property transactions.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate client files and case records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and gather necessary information.
  • Conducting searches such as land registry, local authority, and environmental searches to support transaction progress.
  • Preparing and submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns.
  • Scheduling appointments, deadlines, and follow-ups to ensure timely completion of all conveyancing tasks.
  • Drafting correspondence and legal notices as required throughout the transaction process.
  • Assisting with post-completion tasks including registration of transfers and updating relevant authorities.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a legal environment specialising in conveyancing or property law is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an approachable manner when liaising with clients and professionals.
  • Attention to detail is crucial to minimise errors in legal documentation and data entry.
  • Experience of the Leap Case Management System is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This role offers a supportive environment for professional growth within the legal sector, ideal for individuals eager to expand their knowledge of property law while contributing to a busy legal practice.
  • 21 days annual leave. 21 care hours
