SHS Family Support Practitioner

Location: Thames Primary Academy, Blackpool

Hours: 5 days per week - 35 hours per week term time only plus inset days

Salary: £19,733 - £22,274 (this is the actual salary)

Closing date: Monday 12th January 2026

1st stage interview: Wednesday 14th January 2026 (online interview)

2nd stage interview: w/b 19th January 2026 (in person at the setting)

We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to join our team and to make a difference in children’s lives every single day. As the Family Support Practitioner , you will work in close partnership with school staff to deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and their families we support. You will also focus your support to help improve attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning.

You will have excellent relationship-building and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate with a wide group of people.

You’ll have previous experience of:

  • Working and engaging with parents, carers or guardians, children or individuals through individual and/or group-based support

  • Working in an educational or outreach environment

  • Working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn

  • W with families from diverse communities
