Locum Pharmacist – Minimal-Volume Morning Role | Roydon, near Harlow
Pay: £27 per hour
Hours: 9am–12pm, with days agreed
Location: On-site in Roydon
Engagement: Self-employed or through your limited company
Looking for a quiet, manageable morning role with a small dispensing workload?
We are seeking a reliable, GPhC-registered pharmacist based in Harlow or the surrounding areas to support our pharmacy in Roydon.
The role
This is a low-volume position, with current GLP-1 order numbers in double digits. The morning workload is light, centred on opening the pharmacy, receiving deliveries and safely preparing a small number of orders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening the pharmacy and providing on-site pharmacist cover from 9am–12pm.
- Accepting and appropriately storing deliveries.
- Safely dispensing and checking GLP-1 medicines.
- Packaging orders for dispatch, following the pharmacy’s procedures and storage requirements.
- Potentially taking prepared parcels to the local post office.
Who would this suit?
This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist who has no conflicting on-site commitments and wants supplementary income from a short, predictable morning session.
We welcome applications from pharmacists already working in remote prescribing roles, provided their existing commitments allow them to remain available for pharmacy duties throughout the session.
Why apply?
- Light dispensing workload: current order volumes are in double digits.
- Short morning sessions: 9am–12pm.
- Quiet working environment: a straightforward routine with a small number of orders to manage.
- Flexible payment arrangements: payment on a self-employed basis or to your limited company.
- Opportunity for additional hours: as the service grows, we will need someone willing to increase their availability.
Although the workload is light, safe dispensing, attention to detail and professional accountability remain essential.
Requirements
- Current GPhC registration as a pharmacist.
- Confidence in safely dispensing and checking medicines.
- A reliable, organised approach and willingness to manage packaging and occasional post-office drop-offs.
- Ability to attend the Roydon site for every agreed session.
This is an on-site role. Only applicants willing and able to travel to Roydon will be considered.
To apply, please send your CV and confirm your location, morning availability and willingness to travel to Roydon.
Pay: £27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 per week
Work Location: In person
