Despatch & Transport Coordinator

Salary: £32,000 per year
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (average 42 hrs/week)

Bishops Printers is a trusted and established name in the print industry, and we’re looking for a reliable and proactive Despatch & Transport Coordinator to join our busy Despatch team. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our daily workflow, ensuring drivers are booked in efficiently, documentation is accurate, and customer orders leave the depot on time, every time.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes pride in getting things right, and wants to play a key role in keeping our production running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming drivers on arrival and guiding them through the despatch process.
  • Checking, managing, and distributing all despatch documentation with complete accuracy.
  • Acting as the main link between our despatch team and transport partners.
  • Monitoring daily despatch volumes and highlighting any issues or trends.
  • Planning and scheduling routes for upcoming deliveries.
  • Building strong working relationships with carriers, customers, and colleagues across the business.

What we’re looking for

  • A confident communicator who can build rapport quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organised under pressure.
  • A proactive problem solver who likes improving processes.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience in transport, logistics, or automotive environments is helpful, but full training will be provided, so enthusiasm and the right attitude are what matter most.

Working Hours

This role operates on a 2-week rotation of 12-hour shifts (05:30–17:30):

Week 1: Wednesday & Thursday
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
