Full job description

Goose + Berry is an award-winning catering and events group specialising in weddings, corporate occasions and private celebrations across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and beyond. As the group expands, we are delighted to offer an exciting and varied role for an Operations Manager to support both our events division and our London restaurant.

Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per annum + Paid Overtime

This role is central to the smooth running of the business, acting as a direct point of contact for the Managing Director and working closely with both the events catering team and the restaurant teams. You will support operational delivery across multiple sites, strengthen processes, enhance efficiency and ensure the highest standards are upheld throughout the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a direct point of contact for the Managing Director, supporting operational decision-making
  • Provide operational support across Berkshire and London, including onsite event operations
  • Attend health and safety meetings and act as the group’s H&S representative
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational and financial efficiency across all departments
  • Oversee logistics, including transport planning and resourcing
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and training of staff
  • Act as a direct support contact for the Restaurant General Manager and Head of Events
  • Work closely with the MD and CEO on outreach, new opportunities and business growth initiatives
  • Maintain accurate costings and monitor event and departmental budgets, margins and overheads
  • Lead all supplier relationships, negotiating terms and ensuring strong, reliable partnerships
  • Oversee all group equipment, including cleaning, storage, packing, maintenance and stock control
  • Attend site visits alongside the sales team, advising on logistics and operational considerations
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and licensing regulations
  • Support both events and restaurant operational teams day-to-day

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a similar operational leadership role within events or hospitality
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to represent the business externally
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required
  • Regular travel to the London office and event locations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work across multiple departments
