We’re committed to realising our ‘Society 2030: Spirit of Progress’ goals, to protect the environment and support our farmers and suppliers. Whatever your skills and experience, we’ll help you to thrive in our inclusive culture.
About the Role
As Transport and Warehouse Manager, you will play a pivotal role at the centre of our Scotland Primary Network team, within Global Brand Supply’s logistics function. Leading a small team of logistics analysts, the role is responsible for ensuring excellent service provision by Scotland’s contracted 3rd party warehouse operator and transport service provider. The core focus is empowering, coaching, and development of team members, delivering a best-in-class logistics service in a cost effective, efficient and compliant manner.
We are looking for someone who can champion innovation and digitalisation as we continue to transform Diageo’s supply chain for the future. Sitting at the heart of our global supply operations, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams, gain exposure to multiple business areas and build strong connections with internal and external stakeholders.
Role responsibilities will include:
Stakeholder Management
-
Lead, coach, and support a team of logistics analyst, who are responsible for controlling all activity within Diageo’s Scotland Warehousing and Transport network.
-
Develop strong, collaborative relationships with warehouse and transport partners (including port and rail providers) to ensure delivery of requirements against governance, service, cost and quality.
-
Collaborate across functions and categories, including planning and market service, to exceed customer expectations.
Cost control
-
Ensure logistics network spend is in line with or better than budgeted costs, collaborating closely with FP&A and finance business partners on reporting and controls.
-
Ability to identify productivity & cost saving opportunities within logistics, delivering against stretching targets to ensure business value.
KPI Monitoring
-
Ownership of Direct Dispatch KPI, ensuring adherence in line with AOP, whilst collaborating with planning teams to deliver year on year improvements.
Network planning and management
-
Effectively liaise with 3PL on provision of bonded warehouse, transport and resource requirements to handle peak activity i.e. receipt/despatch volumes/inter site and plant to port moves
-
Manage the network to ensure operating efficiency and inventory location is optimised in line with outgoing shipment requirements.
Digital Implementation
-
Champion the adoption of digital tools within daily operations, supporting and guiding teams to discover new ways of working.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about leading and developing people, building strong relationships and delivering great results together as a team. You don’t need to tick every box to apply. If you have the right mindset and transferable skills, we’d love to hear from you.
What we’re looking for:
-
A collaborative leader who values team success above individual contribution, with previous people leadership experience (direct team leader experience is preferred).
-
Strong relationship-building skills are required - ability to communicate clearly and confidently with external partners and internal stakeholders.
-
Organised and adaptable, able to handle multiple priorities while meeting key business deadlines.
-
Experience working in supply chain logistics network or/or with 3PL’s is preferred, however we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who are eager to learn.
-
HMRC awareness is an advantage.
