Full job description

At Dudley Building Society, we're proud to be a modern mutual with deep roots in the communities we serve. Guided by our purpose to Help People Live Better Lives, we're focused on making a positive difference for our members, colleagues and local communities through the way we work, the service we provide and the values we live every day.

To help us continue delivering on this purpose, we're looking for a Senior Management Analyst/Accountant, leading the Society's budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting processes and delivering accurate, timely and well-structured management information to support financial planning, performance understanding and senior management review.

The role is responsible for coordinating and producing financial forecasts, analysing business performance, maintaining robust planning and reporting outputs, and providing clear insight into profitability, margin, cost, balance sheet and prudential performance trends. This is a role with variety, visibility and impact, supporting month-end financial reporting, technical accounting activities and financial controls to help ensure the accuracy, integrity and reliability of the Society's financial information.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified accountant or experienced senior finance professional with strong FP&A, forecasting, management information and analytical capability, who enjoys turning financial data into clear, meaningful insight for senior stakeholders.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting - owning and coordinating the Society's budgeting and forecasting cycle, including timetable management, template preparation, consolidation, assumption tracking, variance analysis and production of forecast outputs for senior management review.
  • Financial Performance Reporting - leading the production of financial performance reporting and analysis, providing insight into profitability, margin, yield, income, costs, balance sheet performance and key business trends, with clear commentary on performance drivers.
  • Management Information & Dashboards - developing, enhancing and maintaining MI, dashboards and reporting outputs for senior management and Board committees, ensuring information is accurate, consistent, well controlled and focused on key financial performance drivers.
  • Month-End & Technical Accounting Support - supporting month-end reporting and technical accounting activities, including journals, reconciliations, analytical reviews, effective interest rate accounting, impairment and provision calculations.
  • Management & Board Reporting - supporting the production and development of reporting for senior management and Board committees, providing analysis of balance sheet performance, margin, liquidity, interest rate risk and other key financial metrics.

What we're looking for

  • Qualified accountant or experienced senior finance professional
  • Strong FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, management information and analytical capability
  • Proven experience of budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, variance analysis, cost and margin analysis
  • Confidence in month-end reporting, journals, reconciliations and technical accounting support
  • Strong Excel, data and MI skills, with the ability to produce clear financial analysis and reporting commentary
  • Excellent attention to detail, judgement and accuracy in a regulated financial services environment
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly with excellent communication skills
  • Experience maintaining robust planning, reporting and financial control outputs
  • Financial services experience is advantageous, particularly where accuracy, control and regulatory awareness are important

Why join us?

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who's ready to take a visible role in the Finance team, combining ownership of forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting and financial analysis with the chance to contribute to month-end reporting, technical accounting and financial control. If you're analytical, values-driven and excited to make an impact - we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll get in return:

  • Salary of £50,000-£60,000 (depending on experience)
  • Intelligent working - split your time between home and our Brierley Hill office;
  • 30 days' holiday + bank holidays + "Moments that Matter" days (birthdays, weddings, getting your house keys, welcoming a grandchild - the moments that count)
  • Up to 8% pension contribution
  • Life assurance at 4× salary
  • Full Private Medical Insurance for you and your family
  • A healthcare plan for everyday essentials like dental and optical
  • Access to our Salary Sacrifice schemes: Cycle to Work and Electric Car schemes
