Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy (Able to Pay)

  • Location: Hybrid
  • Salary: £60,000–£70,000 DOE, plus excellent bonus potential
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
  • Holiday: 33 days per annum (including bank holidays)

Drive Growth. Build Partnerships. Shape the Future of Renewable Energy.

Heatforce is one of Wales' leading renewable energy businesses, helping homeowners and organisations reduce energy costs and carbon emissions through innovative heating, solar and low-carbon technologies.

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate the growth of our Able to Pay division. This is a true business development role focused on identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships and increasing revenue across domestic and commercial renewable energy markets.

If you thrive on winning new business, developing long-term client relationships and delivering commercial success, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for developing new revenue streams and expanding Heatforce's presence across the renewable energy sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across domestic and commercial markets.
  • Developing strategic partnerships with housing providers, developers, businesses, installers and key stakeholders.
  • Growing sales of renewable energy solutions including heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage and energy-efficient heating systems.
  • Building and managing a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through to contract completion.
  • Creating and delivering business development strategies to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
  • Managing key customer relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business and referrals.
  • Working closely with marketing to generate high-quality leads and maximise market opportunities.
  • Collaborating with operational teams to ensure an excellent customer journey from enquiry through to installation.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies to identify future growth opportunities.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts and sales reporting.

While you'll provide guidance and support to the telesales function, this role is primarily focused on commercial growth rather than people management.

About You

We're looking for someone who is naturally commercial, highly motivated and passionate about developing new business.

You'll ideally have:

  • A proven track record of winning new business and delivering revenue growth.
  • Experience selling renewable energy, heating, construction, utilities or technical solutions.
  • Strong B2B business development experience, with exposure to B2C markets being advantageous.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Experience negotiating and closing high-value commercial opportunities.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines and CRM systems.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a passion for exceeding targets.
  • Knowledge of renewable technologies including heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage or wider decarbonisation solutions would be highly desirable.

What We Offer

  • £60,000–£70,000 salary depending on experience
  • Uncapped performance bonus
  • Hybrid working
  • 33 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Ongoing learning and career development
  • The opportunity to join one of Wales' fastest-growing renewable energy businesses

Why Heatforce?

Today, we're at the forefront of the UK's transition to low-carbon technologies, delivering innovative solutions including heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage and energy-efficient heating systems.

Joining Heatforce means becoming part of a forward-thinking business where you'll have the autonomy to develop new markets, build meaningful partnerships and directly influence our continued growth.

If you're an ambitious Business Development professional looking for your next challenge in one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help shape the future of renewable energy.
