Full job description

Position: Female Casual Support Worker

Location: Leyton, E10

Hours: Zero contracted hours (Mon-Sun, including weekends, days, evenings and holidays)

Salary: £15.52 per hour inclusive of holiday pay or £13.85 per hour exclusive of holiday pay

Advance is looking for a Female Casual Support Worker in Leyton, E10 to support customers with learning disabilities/ autism/ complex needs/ mental health conditions to live the lives they choose. Responsibilities:

  • Assisting wheelchair users
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene (if required)
  • Medication administration (if required)
  • Support with preparing and cooking meals
  • Support with attending medical appointments
  • Support with social activities
  • Support with independent skills
  • Support with domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry
  • Keeping accurate records and updating care plans as required
  • Keeping up to date with your training
  • Ensuring the premises are secure and safe during the night
  • Supporting with meal times and food preparation (if required)
  • Supporting with regular checks on the customer to ensure their safety

About the candidate:

You don’t need to have previous experience working in care or support to be successful in this role. What matters are your values, your passion and determination to make a difference in the lives of people with autism or learning disabilities.

If you think a Causal Support Worker role sounds right for you, you will need to be:

  • Experienced with using a hoist
  • Good at working on your own and within a team
  • Excellent at communicating with people
  • Able to complete quality support records
  • Able to work in different locations if needed
  • Able to work flexible hours
  • Ability to follow a Support Plan and Risk Assessments and maintain customer records
  • Willing to work with diverse people with learning disabilities, including wheelchair users
  • Need to be literate and numerate in English
  • Willingness and ability to achieve the Care Certificate
