Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dundee
Grade: 11
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering department at NCR Atleos in Dundee.
Responsibilities
- Lead electro/mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
- Experience in electro/mechanical product design and working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacturers.
- Working with Industrial design functions to deliver designs as conceived and within the commercial goals.
- Proven track record delivering cost effective designs to specification and engineering standards
- Supplier engagement and change management
- Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA
- Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change
Experience
- A Degree in Electro/Mechanical Engineering (Hons 2:1 or better preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of related experience
- Strong understanding of Electro/Mechanical design principles and technologies.
- Clearly understand documentation and the ability to work solely on problems as well as within a team environment
- Must be willing to work to and set high work standards and be a good communicator.
- Highly proficient in CAD (Pro/E or Solidworks preferred)
- FMEA experience.
- Module/Platforming/Product architectures
- Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
- Work with Suppliers throughout project lifecycle
