Full job description
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a creative and proactive communications professional to join our organisation at a time of change and opportunity.
As a key member of our small but highly performing communications team, the post-holder will play an active role in planning and delivering our internal communications activity.
This is a pivotal role in the team, and you will be expected to be highly organised and be able to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, external partners and stakeholders.
You will also play a role in supporting the Trust’s media relations service and our digital communications, including creating engaging website and intranet content. You will also be responsible for working closely with the patient experience team to provide support in producing high quality patient information that meets necessary standards.
No two days will be the same. If you are an all-round communications professional who is organised and comfortable working in fast-paced environment, then we want to hear from you.
Lead on the content planning, development and delivery of the Trust's internal communications channels
Coordinate timely, accurate delivery of essential safety and operational messaging through internal channels, such as changes to core policies or guidance, or safety alerts
Provide a targeted communications approach for key internal audience segments, with a particular focus on resident doctors and other groups that may have highly specific communications needs
Develop strong working relationships with staff members across the organisation, becoming a trusted source of support and advice, and encouraging colleagues to come forward with stories and news
Work closely with colleagues to provide a coordinated and holistic communications service, including supporting media and stakeholder engagement
Contribute in editorial planning and general professional communications activities for the service, including managing events planning for key corporate events as required
Working closely with the patient experience team to provide expert communications advice in relation to patient information as required, particularly in respect of the Accessible Information Standard and video information
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond.
Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people.
We run major acute services at:
Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A&E) in the country. The hospital provides a full range of services including the country’s top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and one of only three hyper-acute rehabilitation units in the UK
St Mark’s Hospital: an internationally renowned specialist centre for bowel disease
Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre, and specialist care at Meadow House Hospice
Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.
