Healthcare Assistant for Prisons
Bank Staff
Salary: £18 per hour
Location – to include but not limited – HMP Exeter, HMP Channings Wood, HMP Guys Marsh and HMP Verne.

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant for our prison diagnostic services. Successful applicants will work across the South area so flexibility is required. You may be required to drive a company van and transport X-ray equipment to various prisons. To succeed you must have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class diagnostic services and patient care. The post holder will work closely with radiographers, supporting them with patients during their clinics. You may be required to stay overnight in a hotel. Expenses for this will be covered.

Training is provided and further career development opportunities exist throughout the company.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a dedicated, positive, enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant. You must hold a full UK driving licence.

  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexible in approach to work
  • Full drivers license and access to a car
  • Ability to be tactful and diplomatic
  • Good organisational skills
  • Previous experience within a healthcare environment is desirable but not essential
  • UK applications only


What you’ll be doing

The Healthcare Assistant will:

  • Ensure the smooth running of clinics
  • Assist in the care and comfort of patients
  • Assist radiographers during examinations
  • Ensure the clinical room is prepared prior to the start of clinical sessions
  • Use the patient information systems (Soliton/PACS)
  • To monitor and ensure sufficient stock levels are consistently maintained in a designated clinic.
  • Ensure and maintain a patient centred and quality focused approach to all aspects of work

  • Uphold data protection and patient confidentiality at all times
