NDT Technical Consultant

Serco Rail Technical Services

37.5 hours per week- Monday- Friday

Serco have a fantastic opening for an NDT Tech Consultant to join the Rail Technical Services team in Derby.


You’re role will be to provide specialist governance to support and enable the technical teams to deliver against, and meet, our contractual arrangements to our customers in delivering a range of NDT services (on-site inspection, technical training, auditing and surveillance) in accordance with the applicable requirements and standards.


Reporting to the Head of NDT, will need to create, develop, and maintain key relationships with all colleagues at Serco Rail Technical Services, our customers and strategic partners who enable the delivery of our key contracts.


Main Accountabilities:


  • Apply appropriate technical governance to all NDT activities within the business.

  • Ensure local operating procedures are fit for purpose, regularly updated, and adhered to.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards to enable the Training team to operate effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards to enable the On-site NDT team to operate safely and efficiently.

  • Manage the development of key skills, capability, and competency related to NDT across the organisation.

  • Provide specialist NDT support, advice, and guidance to the business and its customers.

  • Develop and strengthen relationships between Serco and collaborative partners.


What you’ll need to do the role:


  • At least 5 years experience as an NDT practitioner.

  • Experience within the rail industry is desirable.

  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills
