Full job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s Acute & Diagnostic Administration Team as a Clerical Officer within the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit.
This is a permanent contract, meaning you will work, covering a variety of shifts including day, evening, weekend, and night shifts. This will be a rolling 4-week rota, therefore a flexible approach to hours and shift patterns is essential.
About the Role
- As a Clerical Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Emergency Department and Clinical Assessment Unit by:
- Providing clerical and administrative support across both departments.
- Receiving and registering patients promptly and accurately.
- Working closely with medical and nursing teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
You will be supported by colleagues, the Team Leader, Administration Services Coordinator, and Administration Services Manager.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be:
- A team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and committed, able to remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and shift patterns.
