Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Dog Handler to join our security team. The successful candidate will be responsible ensuring the safety and security of premises and assets. This role offers an engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about canine work and security operations, with a focus on surveillance and loss prevention.

Job Specifics

  • Employed positions available
  • Full time - 12h night shifts - 4 on 4 off basis
  • Part time - We are happy to consider applications for part time work. This would be on a regular roster basis to suit both the candidate and the business
  • Rate of pay - £14ph with the option to earn a £1ph bonus each month if job performance is of a satisfactory standard.

Location

  • Corby area
  • Successful candidate would be required to rotate around a number of sites within the local area

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas using trained dogs to detect unauthorised access or potential threats
  • Implement loss prevention strategies by monitoring high-risk zones and deterring theft or vandalism
  • Respond promptly to security alerts or incidents, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
  • Maintain the health, training, and welfare of assigned dogs, ensuring they are fit for duty at all times
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and observations accurately in reports
  • Participate in ongoing dog training to enhance skills in canine handling, surveillance techniques, and first aid procedures

Skills

  • Proven experience or training in surveillance and loss prevention techniques
  • Ability to handle and train working dogs effectively, demonstrating patience and consistency
  • Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail during patrols and surveillance activities
  • Basic first aid knowledge to assist in emergencies involving personnel or animals
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and professionally
  • Organised approach to managing daily duties while maintaining high standards of safety and security
