This role is open to experienced paralegal's, Solicitors or Cilex Lawyers.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and well-respected team handling EL/PL claims on behalf of Defendants, valued up to £100k, with exposure to more complex matters under the guidance of experienced supervisors and senior lawyers. • Be responsible for a varied caseload of pre-litigated and litigated work.
  • Screen matters for prospects and liaise with clients upon receipt of instructions.
  • Review instructions and provide client advice on case prospects.
  • Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards.
  • Instruct experts and counsel, draft Witness Statements and other Court documents.
  • Maintain contact with our clients and their customers whilst proactively managing their expectations.
  • Meet individual performance measures (financial performance, realisation rates and other KPIs).
  • Support the Team Partners in delivering case clinics/surgeries/training to clients
  • Support the Team supervisors in training and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Authorised lawyers will support the supervision of entry level paralegal colleagues
  • Ensure that the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards are maintained.

Who you are

This role is suited to experienced EL/PL claims practitioners, particularly those likely to be allocated to the Intermediate or Multi Track.
  • An experienced Paralegal or a qualified solicitor/CILEX equivalent with previous experience employers' liability and public claims. We are happy to consider candidates with Claimant experience, Insurance or In-house roles.
  • Proven communication skills at all levels
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills. Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues as well as able to demonstrate a reasonable level of self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority
  • An ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues
  • Change oriented with a positive, flexible approach towards the implementation of new initiatives
  • Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).

  • A well-rounded remuneration package (which includes private medical insurance, income protection insurance and discounted gym membership, amongst many other benefits)
  • Opportunities for growth and progression including professional funding
  • In person and remote social events
  • Opportunity to get involved in a range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) activities
We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, which aligns closely to our cultural principles (Determined, Clear, Creative and Supportive). If you are excited about this role and being part of our culture, but your past experience does not align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!
