We recognise that training and development opportunities are vital for a happy and competent workforce. This is why we have an ED specific Clinical Practice Education (CPE) team dedicated to the development of our nurses to support a modern career framework. You will be supported every step of the way by our senior nurses, the CPE team and your colleagues.

We offer a variety of development opportunities which include, but are not limited to:

Protected Supernumerary period

The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse works clinically including unsocial hours and will be expected to work competently in all areas of the Emergency Department as well as being able to independently take charge of them.

The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will assist their Team leader with managing their own team of nurses and ensuring they meet their potential.

As a band 6 Junior sister charge nurse in our busy Emergency Department, you will have the opportunity to work in all areas including children’s ED to increase your skill set and competency.
