Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the development and well-being of children by providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children of various ages, 18 months to 4 years and After School children aged 3-11 years old. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's growth while working in a collaborative setting focused on childhood development.

Duties

  • Assist in supervising children during daily activities, playtime, and mealtime to ensure safety and engagement
  • Support classroom routines such as nappy changing, feeding, nap times, and transitions between activities
  • Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and social skills
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment, including sanitising toys and learning materials
  • Provide first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols diligently

Experience & Qualifications

  • Level 3 or above in Childcare
  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as nursery, preschool, nannying, or classroom environments preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Experience with toddler care, infant care, and preschool-aged children is highly desirable
  • Certification in first aid is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification required if not already held
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Work Location: In person
