Full job description

LittleInch is a family-owned care home operator with two homes in Renfrewshire, Inchinnan and Rashielee. We are recruiting a Registered Nurse for our Inchinnan home, a 41-bed setting five minutes from Glasgow Airport, where you will join a settled clinical team.

What we offer

  • Enhanced sick leave
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Confidential staff counselling service, available to you
  • NMC PIN fees paid on reregistration
  • Paid PVG check
  • Paid handover at the start and end of every shift
  • Paid meal break
  • Free uniform
  • Subsidised café menu on shift
  • Free parking at both sites
  • Twelve-week structured induction with a named buddy
  • Fully-funded NES specialist training and a clear progression pathway from Staff Nurse through Clinical Lead and into management
  • Thirteen paydays a year (four-weekly pay cycle)
  • Blue Light Card access
  • Genuine recognition for good practice, not just a poster on the wall

What is different about working with us

You are the clinical lead on the floor. No waiting for a registrar, no layers of sign-off. You are trusted to use your professional judgement.

You will talk to the people who run the business. We are family-owned. The home manager, deputy and the directors are visible and accessible, not an HR function three levels removed.

You will work a sensible pattern. Three days a week, typically with every second weekend off. No hospital car park at six in the morning.

You will develop as a specialist. Fully-funded NES training routes are open to you, and several of our current team started as carers.

The role

Reporting to the Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager and Home Manager, you will:

  • Assess, plan, deliver, evaluate and document nursing care for an allocated group of residents, in line with the NMC Code and the Health and Social Care Standards.
  • Lead care reviews for allocated residents with the wider team.
  • Administer medicines safely and accurately, in line with policy and the NMC Code.
  • Recognise and respond to deterioration; escalate to GP, NHS 24, ambulance or hospital as required.
  • Carry out clinical interventions including wound care, catheter care, syringe drivers (where competent), end of life care and long term condition management.
  • Take charge of the shift when designated; allocate work, support the team and manage escalation.
  • Provide clinical supervision and direction to Nurse Assistants and Care Assistants.
  • Liaise with families and external clinical partners with sensitivity and clarity.
  • Contribute to clinical audit, infection control and quality improvement.
  • Support new staff through induction.

About you

  • Current NMC registration (RGN or RMN). Newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply.
  • Satisfactory PVG check
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Genuine interest in care home nursing and the residents we look after
  • Confident clinical decision-making and clear communication at all levels
  • A team player comfortable in a small, close-knit setting
