Full job description

Swn-y-Gan is a 28 bed Nursing Home in the village of Penclawdd Swansea.

We are committed to ensuring that we have a positive working environment for all employees.

If you are an experienced carer with the ability to work flexible hours to meet our resident’s needs, we’d love to hear from you.

As we grow there will be opportunities to progress quickly to a more senior position for the right candidate.

Main aims of the job

  • To meet the personal needs of the residents.
  • To observe and promote the resident's choice, independence, dignity, privacy, and other rights.
  • To create and maintain good professional relationships with residents, their families, and friends.
  • To assist in the general duties and activities of the home.
  • To work alongside, and support your colleagues

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have good judgment, problem-solving, and decision making skills
  • The ability to work flexible hours to meet the business needs
  • Effective timekeeping and time management
  • Have a genuine interest in older people
  • The ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Be willing to participate in National Vocational Training Programmes
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding care to older people
  • NVQ Level 2, or working towards it.
