Full job description

Ashmere Care Homes provides a homely environment for elderly residential residents in Sutton in Ashfield. Ashmere is very much part of the community and most of our residents have previously lived locally. As a Occupational Therapist you will provide support and help to the elderly with physical or social disabilities, to independently carry out everyday tasks. You will create individual treatment programmes. you may introduce the use of equipment which will help with some activities, you will review the treatments periodically, evaluate progress and make changes as needed.

Responsibilities

You will work with a group of 10+ elderly people who all have different requirements, having recently been discharged from hospital you will need to understand each persons lifestyle so that you can create the best treatment plan for them.

You will take a 'whole person' approach to each patients physical wellbeing by considering all their needs - physical, social and environmental.

Establish realistic goals with the patient with meaningful outcomes.

Liaise with other professionals, such as doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, equipment suppliers as well as patients families and carers.

Keep up to date records.

Refer patients to other specialists when needed.

You would be required to provide proof of own insurance.

Contract details:

3 days per week, flexible hours and days to be discussed at interview.

Self employed - to submit monthly invoice to finance department.

Salary: £35.00 per hour
