Location: Pangbourne, Berkshire

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Pipefitter to join a growing team on projects based in and around Pangbourne. The successful candidate will be involved in the installation, modification, maintenance, and testing of mechanical pipework systems, primarily within the water and wastewater sector.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on Thames Water sites and hold a valid Thames Water Passport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of stainless steel, carbon steel, ductile iron, and plastic pipework systems.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Carry out pipe fabrication, fitting, and assembly activities.
  • Install pumps, valves, manifolds, flanges, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Perform pressure testing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed to industry standards and project specifications.
  • Adhere to site health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical fitters, welders, electricians, and project teams.
  • Complete site documentation accurately and efficiently.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Pipefitter within the water or wastewater industry.
  • Valid Thames Water Passport.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience installing mechanical pipework and associated equipment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on live operational sites.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Thames Water site experience.
  • EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
  • Confined Space Training.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
  • Experience working on treatment plants, pumping stations, and clean water facilities.
  • Basic fabrication skills and mechanical maintenance experience.
