Academic Tutor (GCSE Level & Above) – SEND Experience Required (Self-Employed)
Location: Bristol / Online
Rate: £20–£35 per hour (depending on placement)

We are a small, specialist service providing tailored academic support to neurodiverse learners. We are seeking experienced academic tutors who can confidently teach to GCSE level or above, with flexibility to adapt to individual learning needs.

Tutors with a specialism in English, Maths, and/or STEM are particularly welcome.

The Role

You will deliver one-to-one academic tutoring to learners with SEND and neurodivergent profiles. This role is academically focused and suited to tutors who are confident working independently and adapting their teaching approach within sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one academic tutoring to GCSE level or above
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning needs
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with families and the coordinating team
  • Maintain brief session records and provide progress updates
  • Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development
  • Uphold safeguarding standards, including maintaining a DBS Update Service subscription

Requirements

  • Proven experience tutoring one or more academic subjects to GCSE level or above
  • Experience working with neurodiverse or SEND learners
  • Calm, reliable, and professional approach
  • Ability to adapt flexibly to learner needs
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Registered or willing to register as self-employed
