Full job description

If you’re a field-based Sales Account Manager in the South East who enjoys winning new business and helping customers solve waste challenges, this role could be for you.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven, customer-focused Sales Account Manager to join Safetykleen, specialising in waste management solutions across the South East of England.

This is a field-based role for someone who enjoys being out with customers, building relationships, uncovering needs and securing new business that makes a real impact. You’ll own the full sales cycle - from first contact through to signed agreement - and your ability to connect with customers, understand their challenges and provide tailored solutions will directly impact growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Owning the full sales cycle - from prospecting and first contact through to proposal, negotiation and securing long-term business.
  • Winning new customers - booking and attending high-quality appointments, running structured on-site meetings and presenting tailored solutions that clearly demonstrate value.
  • Building and managing your territory pipeline - analysing your area, planning activity, using cold calling, face-to-face visits and networking to generate opportunities and keep a healthy pipeline moving.
  • Using data to drive decisions - updating CRM and internal tools to track conversations and opportunities and using these insights to provide accurate forecasts and prioritise your next actions.
  • Building strong relationships - developing trust with customers, colleagues and support teams, and working closely with internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements and resolve issues quickly.

About You

You’re a proactive, field-based salesperson who enjoys getting out to customers, having commercial conversations and winning new business - while doing the right thing for the customer and the environment.

You will have:

  • Experience in B2B sales and/or account management, ideally in commercial or hazardous waste or a related service-led sector.
  • A proven track record of securing new business and working to ambitious sales targets.
  • Strong communication and listening skills – you’re clear, concise and able to build rapport quickly.
  • Confidence in negotiating and influencing, and comfortable challenging constructively where needed.
  • An organised, structured approach – you manage your time, territory and pipeline well and use data to stay on top of your numbers.
  • Resilience and tenacity – you’re able to deal with setbacks, stay positive and keep going in a competitive environment.
  • A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North East to visit customers.

You don’t need to meet every single requirement to be considered. If this role appeals to you and you have most of the experience listed, we encourage you to apply – attitude, curiosity and a commitment to doing the right thing for customers matter most.

About Us

At Safetykleen, we provide essential parts cleaning, waste collection and environmental advisory services that help customers reduce their environmental footprint and boost operational performance.

With operations in 15 countries and over 1 million services delivered each year, you’ll be joining a stable, growing business with a fast-paced, high-impact and agile environment, where sustainability and long-term customer partnerships are at the heart of what we do.

Benefits

  • £32,000–£38,000 per annum, OTE approx £60,000
  • £5,200 per year car allowance
  • Uncapped commission
  • 25 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
  • 5% contributory pension scheme
  • Family life assurance – 3x salary
  • Private healthcare scheme from day one
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Corporate discount scheme focused on health and wellbeing, including discounted Virgin Active gym membership
  • Discount and cashback at many retailers
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 confidential helpline
  • Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme
  • Employee recognition and referral schemes
  • Access to internal and external courses to support your development and career with Safetykleen

When you join Safetykleen, you’ll find a welcoming and inclusive workplace where your voice is heard, your talents are appreciated, and your development is based on merit and performance.
