Job Description

Statkraft is looking for a candidate to join a professional team responsible for managing and operating commercial contracts related to our market access portfolio in the UK. In a dynamic business environment, the Contract Operations team is the bridge between the origination/business development teams and the support functions and takes responsibility for the quality of data, transactional validation, billing, market compliance, financial reporting and related services.

The role carries a great deal of autonomy and accountability and is suited to someone with UK electricity market experience and who is inquisitive, progressive and methodical: the successful candidate will have initiative, be prepared to build customer and stakeholder relationships and develop the processes upon which the team depends.

As an Senior Contract Operations Analyst in this team, you will …

  • Be key resource in daily business operations (end to end contract management, for example balance settlement, contract settlement, invoicing and self-billing, rebilling and Elexon reconciliation, handling of complex customer requests, and providing input for PNL reporting, among other tasks.).
  • Foresee operational risks and proactively initiate measures.
  • Establish reliable interfaces by working in close cooperation with internal and external customers.
  • Communicate complex operational topics to stakeholders at various levels.
  • Participate in multi-stakeholder initiatives within Statkraft.
  • Drive knowledge transfer within the team, ensuring junior team members are well-informed and trained.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, either leading optimization and automation efforts or coordinating with IT departments.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for business processes, ensuring transparency and continuity.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or similar.
  • Extensive experience in a similar operations-focused position or unit.
  • Proven experience in the UK energy sector, with a strong understanding of flexibility markets, balancing services, and distributed energy resources.
  • Solid knowledge of contract management, market communication, and settlement processes within energy portfolios.
  • Experience with SQL (ability to create reports, extract, and analyse data); knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is a plus.
  • Familiarity with energy management data systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
