Our Ellesmere Port site plays a key role in supporting our customers, maintaining strong service performance, and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations. We are looking for an organised and motivated Operations Assistant to join our team.

Role Overview

The Operations Assistant will support the day-to-day coordination of operational activities across the Lincoln facility. This role involves administrative support, scheduling, communication with internal teams and external partners, and assisting with workflow management to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative support to the Operations Manager and wider operations team.
  • Maintain and update operational documentation, logs, and reports.
  • Assist with scheduling, planning, and coordinating tasks, deliveries, and staff workloads.
  • Monitor workflow progress and help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport partners to ensure smooth operational processes.
  • Support stock control, and procurement tasks where required.
  • Respond to operational queries promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and operational procedures.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good IT proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook; internal systems training provided).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive, proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in an operations, logistics, or administrative support role.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, planning, or workflow management.
  • Experience within a warehouse, industrial, or service-based organisation.
