Join Bupa at New Victoria Hospital as our Business Development Director-a strategic leadership role driving commercial growth, innovation, and outstanding patient experiences. As part of the Executive Team, you'll lead commercial initiatives, build key relationships, and champion transformation in a hospital dedicated to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial Strategy & Growth: develop and deliver the hospital's commercial strategy, aligned with Bupa's wider vision. Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and income streams. Oversee market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
- Consultant & Referrer Engagement: build strong relationships with consultants, GPs, referrers, brokers, and insurers. Lead consultant recruitment and engagement, including networking and educational events.
- Service & Pathway Development: launch and optimise clinical pathways, drive digital innovation (including AI), and champion continuous improvement.
- Marketing & Communications: lead local marketing strategy, manage agency contracts, and oversee external communications in partnership with Bupa's central press team.
- Leadership & Collaboration: motivate and develop the commercial team, foster a culture of commercial excellence, and represent the commercial voice at executive level.
- Governance & Compliance: ensure all commercial activities comply with regulatory frameworks and hospital policies. Monitor and manage commercial risks.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in business development and commercial growth, ideally in healthcare or a regulated environment (Essential)
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in consultant engagement or relationship management.
- Strategic thinker with commercial acumen.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Analytical, adaptable, and resilient-especially in digital transformation and AI.
- Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative, positive approach.
