About the role:

The role is responsible for maximising the performance of our Lockers operations, and requires a high-performing individual to provide leadership, motivation, and training and development of the workforce. It is essential candidate coming from a similar parcel sortation operation management background.

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in overseeing the activities of the warehouse, managing the shift team and running a mechanical sortation.

Location: Unit D, Larkfield Industrial Estate, New Hythe Lane, Aylesford ME20 6SW

Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday

Hours: 7am to 3.30pm

Salary: £42,0000 + health insurance and life assurance

What you’ll be doing:

You will be responsible for maximising the performance of the operations by directing the daily, weekly and monthly activities, providing leadership, motivation, training and development of the workforce, executing against customer requirements. Ability to manage remote teams where necessary and dealing with customers on a daily basis.

Operations Manager Duties:

  • Responsible for the hub picking, processing operation of magazines for 5000+ retailers.

  • Manage, support, and develop the operational team

  • Ensure the performance of the operation exceeds customer expectations in line with recognised contract KPI's.

  • Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers

  • Ensure operational compliance including H&S

  • Assist the General Manager in ensuring all operational performance standards are met

  • Manage the team, undertaking regular reviews plan and arrange for the training and development of operational staff

  • Ensure and monitor effective use of driver and vehicle resources

  • Establish and develop working relationships with the customer

  • Coordinate site housekeeping/maintenance to ensure H&S requirements are upheld

  • Some UK travelling maybe required.
