Job Overview

We are seeking an Optometrist, ideally with an IP qualification, to join us for a 12-month FTC at The Optical Factor in Hamilton West. The role is a maternity cover but comes with the genuine possibility of a permanent position thereafter as the business continues to grow.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and deliver these with care and attention to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and clinical assessments
  • Provide expert advice on eye health, appropriate vision solutions, eyewear options and frame selection
  • Ensuring the highest quality standards of patient care are consistently maintained
  • Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations
  • Carry out occasional domiciliary visits (accompanied by another team member to dispense)

Experience required

  • Fully qualified Optometrist registered with the GOC
  • Minimum of 1 year post-qualified experience
  • Strong clinical decision-making and patient-care skills with a deep understanding of NHS guidelines and compliance
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to deliver complex information to patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • A proactive, professional and patient-centric approach
