Workshop Operative Stoke-on-Trent

Location: Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent (ST4)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am 5:00pm

Salary: 34,000 37,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Start Date: January (Interviewing immediately)

Main Purpose of the Role

To maintain, service, and repair Conquip OEM equipment efficiently and effectively, ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs, servicing, and set-up primarily on Conquip OEM equipment, which mainly comprises non-mechanical plant and machinery; some welding work will be required.
  • Apply spray painting to equipment as necessary.
  • Complete basic computer tasks to finalise certification documentation accurately.
  • Organise daily work in accordance with instructions from the line manager.
  • Operate counterbalance forklifts and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all lifting equipment on site, ensuring strict compliance with LOLER regulations and signing off equipment on behalf of Conquip.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner when liaising with a diverse range of personnel on site.
  • Demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours, as required by the nature of the construction industry.
  • Undertake any additional training necessary to fulfil the role effectively and remain up to date with industry standards.
