Full job description

If you’re reading this you may be considering a change of employment and with so many job adverts saying the same as the next, you may be wondering if you apply for this job, will it be the one you are after. I will therefore try and be as descriptive as possible.

A Financial Planning firm with a large national presence has a vacancy in their Manchester regional office which is based in the city centre. The company have grown through a mixture of organic and acquisition of some very respected businesses, ones which would be extremely cautious to transfer clients and will therefore have only done so if they were confident that the firm would treat their client book as they expect.

This is very relevant for this vacancy, which is for a Senior Financial Planning Support. These roles tend to vary between firms, with one looking much different to another. Whilst all are involved in the case journey for the clients, the input of the Support staff can differ. For this particular vacancy you will join the firm having cultivated a high level of experience in the delivery of complex cases, most of high value and, throughout, developing strong and lasting relationships with clients whilst providing a proactive and committed level of service to them.

Whilst the tangible tasks required in the support role will need to be done to a high standard, a large part of this opportunity will see you be challenged with variety, complexity and include significant client contact. You will be someone who takes pride in your craft and be happy to train and mentor other, less experienced colleagues, to help them develop the same attention to detail, proactiveness and pride in their role.

You will be involved in all aspects of financial planning support which a full role specification will set out for you and will work closely with the Financial Planners and Paraplanning staff. To be suitable you will be doing the role currently, or perhaps working as a Paraplanner and prefer the variety of this type of role encompassing support/administration/annual reviews and client contact.

This company has an established HYBRID WORKING set up making it practically possible to deliver on your role responsibilities whilst also balancing with your personal commitments.

Salary & Benefits

  • Circa £36,000 – £40,000, depending on experience
  • Above-average holiday allowance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Additional benefits

If you already enjoy a stronger financial package but feel this role aligns with your experience and aspirations, you are encouraged to apply—firms recognise the value of experienced professionals in this space and are willing to be flexible for the right person.

If you’re seeking a Manchester city centre role, with hybrid working, a strong benefits package, and an established, reputable firm, this opportunity is well worth exploring.
