Financial & Office Administrator (Part‑Time)

10 hours a week. Afternoons. From £15 per hour.

Hawkes Architecture is a small, design‑led studio creating bespoke countryside homes with a strong focus on sustainability. We’re looking for an experienced financial administrator to keep our practice running smoothly.

This is a part‑time role. This position offers the chance to get stuck into book-keeping plus other tasks.

The Role:

  • Keeping our financial records accurate and up to date
  • Day to day book-keeping, managing invoices, payments, reconciliations
  • Maintaining management accounts, journals and ledgers
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll & pensions
  • Preparing simple financial reports and assisting with budgeting
  • Overseeing timesheets and expenses
  • Liaise with external accountants and advisers.
  • Supporting compliance tasks including maintain company records
  • Helping the support team with systems, insurance, contracts

What you bring

  • Solid experience in bookkeeping.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Confident IT skills including strong Excel. We use Xero, Sage, and various online tools
  • Someone proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable working independently
  • Highly organised with clear communication and a friendly, approachable manner
  • An accountancy qualification or experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
