The Role

We’re seeking an experienced and organised Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial operations. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate records, supporting cash flow, and helping to keep our business running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, initiative, and communication are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks accounting software
  • Process and reconcile purchase and sales invoices
  • Manage supplier payments and maintain up-to-date ledgers
  • Record and reconcile daily bank transactions and statements
  • Chase outstanding customer payments and maintain positive client relationships
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with monthly and year-end reporting
  • Monitor cash flow and provide regular financial updates to management
  • Liaise with our external accountants and internal teams
  • Support payroll processing and staff expense claims
  • Carry out general finance and administrative duties as required

About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience (experience in freight forwarding or logistics preferred)
  • Proficient in QuickBooks (essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly for chasing payments in a professional manner
  • Highly organised and able to work independently
  • AAT qualification (or working towards) desirable but not essential
  • Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a growing, forward-thinking team
