About Us

Dr Schär is a family owned, world-wide Company which specialises in the manufacture and supply of gluten-free products and dietetic food for special medical purposes. Dr Schär UK head office is based in Warrington with a manufacturing site in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire and supplies its’ products to both retailers and pharmacies with the Schär and Glutafin brands. We are currently recruiting a Planning Assistant on a permanent basis, to join our team in Bellshill (ML4 3NP).

Working Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm, 30 hours per week.

Previous experience in a Planning or Stock Control role would be advantageous, particularly in food production and / or manufacturing of food products (bakery or other food factory) is desirable to allow you to carry out your duties.

What you will be doing:

Support Planning & Logistics Coordinator with Administration duties, including but not limited to:

  • Validate any claims relating to shortages;
  • Stock movement between site and third party logistics supplier ensuring clear communication channels;
  • Communication regarding customer stock delays between Warrington and site;
  • Liaison with Long Lane Deliveries;
  • Liaison with despatch on order status and ensuring orders are ready for outload;
  • Ensure all orders are processed on time;
  • Production Planning support / cover;
  • Monthly stock taking and reporting on stock variances to site;
  • Any other adhoc duties as and when required.

Office Admin:

  • Greet all visitors to site in a professional & friendly manner;
  • Ensure company procedures are adhered to when visitors arrive and leave site (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges, health questionnaires, fire register);
  • Ensuring confidentiality of all matters at all times;
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures);
  • Answer, screen and deal with all incoming enquiries by phone, e-mail, letter, and face to face;
  • Effectively communicate messages to the correct department/persons as required;
  • Receive, sort & distribute daily mail / deliveries, also deal with all outgoing mail;
  • Order stationery for site and keep inventory of stock;
  • Deal with the fruit & milk distribution to canteen and office area when delivered;
  • Deal with water ordering and keep inventory of orders;
  • Organise external catering for any meetings as and when required;
  • Organise taxis for any visitors to site as required;
  • Any other ad hoc duties as and when required.

  • Rate of pay is £24,500 pro rata per annum

Requirements we need:

  • Previous experience in a Reception or Admin related role (essential)
  • NVQ/SVQ in Customer Service, Levels 1 – 4 (desirable)
  • NVQ/SVQ in Business and Administration, Levels 1-4 (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a customer focused environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable on all Microsoft Packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
