Office Administrator / Payroll Coordinator (Part-Time, Flexible Hours)

15-35 hours per week • Newcastle • Flexible Schedule

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an organised and motivated Office Administrator / Payroll Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and values accuracy and structure.

We offer flexible working hours (15-35 hours per week, depending on business needs), making this role ideal for candidates seeking part-time work with the potential to increase hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing weekly payroll from start to finish
  • Checking timesheets, adjustments, and all payroll-related data
  • Ensuring all information is accurate and discrepancies are resolved
  • Managing starters and leavers
  • Maintaining and updating employee records
  • Preparing employment letters and wage-related documents
  • Handling employee queries and resolving payroll or work-related issues
  • Managing company pension administration
  • Providing day-to-day office administrative support

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables - will be tested during the interview)
  • Excellent computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Familiarity with any payroll software would be an advantage and is highly desirable
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence working independently and within a wider team
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Motivation, initiative, and willingness to adapt
  • Familiarity with any payroll software is highly desirable
  • Ability to work from the office when required, while some tasks can be completed remotely

Desirable: previous experience in payroll or administration, driving licence, experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
