- Freelance/hourly: £35–£45 per hour
- Freelance day rate: £250–£325 per day

Role overview
We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Higher Nationals Accounting and Finance Lecturer/Assessor to support the delivery and assessment of the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Business, particularly the Accounting and Finance pathway.
The programme will be delivered mainly through distance learning. The successful candidate will deliver live online teaching, create appropriate learning materials, assess learner work and contribute to internal quality-assurance processes.
The preferred arrangement is freelance, although part-time and full-time applications may also be considered. Occasional face-to-face attendance may be required for meetings, training, standardisation, assessment boards or Pearson quality-assurance activities.

Main responsibilities
The Lecturer/Assessor will:
- plan and deliver live online lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials;
- prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, presentations and learning resources;
- deliver unit content in accordance with Pearson specifications;
- provide structured guided and independent learning activities;
- explain accounting and finance principles using practical business examples;
- develop learners’ numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills;

Essential qualifications
Applicants should hold:
- a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related subject;
- preferably a Master’s degree or other postgraduate qualification in Accounting or Finance;
- a recognised teaching qualification or substantial higher education teaching experience;
- an assessor qualification or significant experience assessing assignment-based qualifications.
A relevant professional accounting qualification or membership is strongly preferred, such as:
- ACCA;
- CIMA;
- ICAEW;
- ICAS;
- CIPFA;
- an equivalent recognised professional qualification.
Essential experience
Applicants must have:
- experience teaching Accounting or Finance at Level 4, Level 5 or higher education level;
- strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting and financial management;
- experience assessing written, numerical and spreadsheet-based learner work;
