Job Title: PPF Pattern & Print Technician

Company: J&J Detailing
Location: Halesowen, Birmingham
Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

About J&J Detailing

J&J Detailing is one of the UK’s leading paint protection film studios. We specialise in protecting high-end, luxury, and performance cars using paint protection film, also known as PPF.

We work on cars such as Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Range Rover, BMW M cars, Mercedes-AMG, and many other premium vehicles.

We are a growing company with a modern studio, a strong reputation, and a very high standard of work. We care about quality, attention to detail, and giving customers a premium experience.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a full-time PPF Pattern & Print Technician to join our team.

The Role

This role is based around preparing PPF kits for cars before they go into the workshop.

You will use computer software to find the correct patterns for each vehicle, prepare the film layout, and print the PPF pieces ready for our installers.

Think of it like preparing a template for each part of the car. The installer then uses those printed pieces to fit the film onto the vehicle.

You do not need to be an experienced PPF installer to apply. We can train the right person. The most important things are that you are good with computers, organised, careful, and have strong attention to detail.

This role could suit someone with experience in vehicle graphics, sign-making, vinyl cutting, printing, CAD, design software, or automotive work.

What You’ll Be Doing

Using specialist software to find the correct PPF patterns for each car

Checking the vehicle model, year, and body shape before printing

Preparing the film layout on the computer

Printing/cutting PPF kits ready for the installation team

Checking the printed pieces are correct before they go into the workshop

Keeping the print area clean and organised

Working closely with the installers to make sure each kit is prepared properly

Helping reduce mistakes and wasted film

Following the daily job schedule and deadlines

What We’re Looking For

Someone who is confident using computers

Someone with excellent attention to detail

Someone organised and reliable

Someone who can work accurately and carefully

Someone who takes pride in doing things properly

Someone who is willing to learn

An interest in cars would be helpful, but it is not essential

Experience That Would Help

Experience with PPF software

Vinyl cutting or plotting

Vehicle graphics

Sign-making

Printing or print production

CAD or design software

Automotive or workshop experience

You do not need all of the above experience. Training can be provided for the right person.

What We Offer

A full-time role in a fast-growing company

The chance to work around luxury and performance cars

A modern, professional studio environment

Training and support

Long-term career opportunity

A supportive team

Competitive pay based on experience

Working Hours

Monday to Friday
8:00am to 5:30pm

How to Apply

If you are organised, good with computers, detail-focused, and interested in working in the automotive industry, we would like to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and a short message telling us about any relevant experience you have with computers, printing, vehicle graphics, sign-making, CAD, software, or cars.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Application question(s):

  • 1. Do you have experience using computer software for work?
  • Do you have any experience with vinyl cutting, plotting, sign-making, printing, CAD, vehicle graphics, or PPF software?
  • This role involves using software to select car patterns, check details carefully, and print/cut kits for installers. Does this sound like a role you would enjoy?
  • Are you comfortable working Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm in Halesowen?
  • How would you rate your attention to detail?
  • If you were unsure whether a car pattern was correct, what would you do?
  • Have you worked in a workshop, print room, signage business, vehicle graphics company, or automotive environment before?
  • Are you looking for a long-term full-time role?
  • What interests you about this role?
  • When would you be available to start?
  • If you were preparing a kit for a car and noticed there were several similar pattern options for different model years or trims, what would you do before printing?
