Full job description

Ofsted Registered Manager (4-Bed Children's Home)

Salary: £70,000 OTE (£65,000 base salary + £5,000 performance-related bonus)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

This is a rare opportunity for a dedicated leader to build a new children's home from its foundations.

We are seeking an exceptional Ofsted Registered Manager to take the helm of a brand-new, purpose-built children's residential home. This is a chance to shape a service from the ground up, creating a sanctuary where four young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) can find safety, healing, and hope.

The Opportunity: More Than a Management Role

This is your chance to create something truly special.

  • Create Your Vision: Shape the culture, nurturing environment, and ethos of a brand-new 4-bed home from day one.
  • Build Your Own Team: You will handpick your entire team, including a Deputy Manager, two Team Leaders, and the support staff.
  • Lead from the Start: Guide the home through the pre-registration process with Ofsted, select the first children you will support, and establish a centre of excellence.
  • Unrivalled Support: You are not alone. You will be backed by a highly supportive senior management team and a network of two other successful local children's services, fostering a collaborative and growth-provoking environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

As the Registered Manager, you will have the autonomy to build and mould a dedicated team and a nurturing environment. Your primary duties will include:

  • Leading the home through a successful Ofsted registration and establishing its operational framework.
  • Recruiting, training, and inspiring your team to deliver outstanding, child-centred care.
  • Creating a warm, nurturing, and supportive home environment that promotes the well-being of every child.
  • Developing and implementing bespoke care plans tailored to each child's unique history, needs, and aspirations.
  • Championing a robust safeguarding culture, ensuring all concerns are addressed swiftly and effectively.
  • Building strong, collaborative relationships with families, social workers, and other professionals.
  • Fostering a sense of belonging and achievement for the children in your care.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: At least one year of proven leadership experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager in children's residential care.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services (or equivalent) is required. NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) is also essential.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
  • Character: A passionate, empathetic, and resilient leader committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, team-building, and organisational skills.

What’s on Offer

  • Excellent Compensation: A competitive OTE of £70,000, comprising a £65,000 base salary plus a £2,000 bonus for a 'Good'/'Outstanding' Ofsted rating and a £3,000 bonus for meeting occupancy targets.
  • Autonomy & Impact: The freedom to build your service and team, backed by a supportive and established organisation.
  • Career Growth: A strong commitment to your professional development and career progression within an expanding company.
  • Comprehensive Benefits:
  • Strong peer management support network
  • Blue Light Card
  • NEST Pension Scheme
  • Allocated car parking space

We are proud to support diversity and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds. We are committed to inclusivity and equal opportunities in the workplace.
