Full job description

Stream was founded with the mission to provide fair financial tools to the everyday worker. Offered through destination employers like Greene King, Bupa, Burger King, Asda and the NHS, our award-winning platform helps over three million people to earn, learn, save, spend and borrow on their own terms, all in one smartphone app.

Stream is unique: VC backed and growing at scale, but with a social conscience. Some of the world's leading impact funds were our founding investors, and we operate on a social charter, which means every product and service we create must measurably improve financial wellbeing.

You’d be joining a team of over 200 passionate, ambitious people across Europe and the USA, building a category-defining product, and united by that same mission.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical FP&A Manager to join our Strategic Finance team. This is a high-impact role where you will drive our financial planning and analysis but also play a crucial part in executing our corporate development strategy, including M&A and other strategic transactions.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional with a background in transaction services or corporate finance to move into a strategic, in-house role and directly influence a company's growth trajectory.

The Team

You will be joining a high-performing Strategic Finance team alongside the VP of Strategic Finance, existing FP&A Manager, Senior Business Analyst, and Treasury Manager. We are a group focused on proactivity, collaboration, and a drive for exceptional outcomes. In this role, you will work closely with the Core Finance team and will have excellent exposure to the CFO, Co-founders, and the Executive Committee.

What you’ll do

  • Financial Modeling & Decision Support: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making across the organization. You'll analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.

  • M&A and Transaction Support: Play a pivotal role in the evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities. This includes conducting financial due diligence, building valuation models, analysing potential synergies, and supporting the integration process for acquired businesses.

  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with department leaders to ensure the alignment of financial plans with strategic objectives, providing insights that will help guide their decisions.

  • Investor and Board Reporting: Assist in the preparation and delivery of compelling executive-level presentations to investors, the Board of Directors, and lenders, effectively communicating our financial performance and outlook. Proactively suggesting improvements and enhancements to these reports.

  • Performance Analysis: Produce and enhance internal reports for the leadership team, offering clear and actionable commentary on our financial performance against key metrics.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process and tool enhancements to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the Strategic Finance function.

  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with external stakeholders such as banks, investors, and advisors to provide necessary management information and analysis.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Experience: You have direct experience of M&A, preferably within a financial due diligence or transaction services team. Previous experience in FP&A is desirable but not essential. This would be your first or second role in industry.

  • Your Approach to Work:

    • You are highly analytical and take full ownership for the quality and integrity of your work.

    • You are a proactive self-starter who doesn't just answer the questions asked but anticipates the next one.

    • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are comfortable juggling competing priorities and tight deadlines without sacrificing precision.

    • You are intellectually curious and have a strong desire for continuous learning and development.

    • You actively seek out feedback, are open to new ideas, and view challenges as opportunities to grow.

    • You have strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively across the organization and influence both peers and senior stakeholders.

  • Technical Skills:

  • You have excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with SQL is desirable but not required.

  • You have demonstrated experience in building financial models and producing insightful analysis.

  • Commitment to Our Mission: You are passionate about contributing to a company with a significant social mission.

Salary: Dependant on experience, salaries range from £70,000 - £90,000 & equity

Working Policy: We operate a hybrid policy, with a requirement of 4 days a week in our London office.

What we do for you:

  • 25 Days Annual Leave in addition to public holidays (up to 5 day rollover), as well as flexible time off allowances for any ad-hoc childcare/family/caring needs

  • 24 weeks' paid Maternity Leave and 4 weeks paid Paternity Leave for employees with over 12 months service

  • Special Leave for In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and other fertility treatments

  • Sabbatical scheme

  • Paid leave to volunteer

  • Private Healthcare including comprehensive mental and physical healthcare

  • Salary sacrifice to pension, as well as bonus exchange to Pension: reap even more rewards of any bonus by paying into your pension & save on Tax and NI + added compound growth

  • Season Ticket Loan
