Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Acting Lecturer to join our drama school team at our City Centre Campus on an ADHOC basis. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality practical acting training across both modern and classical performance styles, helping students develop the technical, creative and professional skills required for contemporary industry practice.

Alongside practical teaching, the role will involve delivering modules in acting theory and context, theatre history, and the development of acting methodologies, enabling students to connect performance practice with historical and critical contexts. The ideal candidate will have professional industry experience, a strong understanding of a range of acting techniques, and the ability to inspire students across both studio-based and academic learning environments.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree.
  • Current and valid industry specialism.
  • Certificate of education or PGCE.
  • Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
  • English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
  • Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Proven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry specialism.
  • Working as a team.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meet delivery targets and plans.
  • Accurate and timely reports and records.
  • Positive contribution to planning processes.
  • Proven track record of positive student satisfaction.
