Personal Assistant (PA) – Support for Young Adult with Autism & ADHD

Location: Gilligham, Suffolk

Hours: 2 sessions per week, 2 hours each (4 hours total)

Start date: As soon as possible

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Personal Assistant to support a 20‑year‑old young woman who is autistic and has ADHD. She is preparing for university in September and is keen to develop her independence, organisation skills, and confidence in daily living.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide practical support with organisation and planning (e.g. routines, reminders, task management).
  • Help build life skills for independent living (meal planning, budgeting, household tasks).
  • Encourage confidence and self‑esteem through positive, person‑centred support.
  • Offer guidance in preparing for university life, including managing workload and self‑care.
  • Work collaboratively with her and her family to ensure support is tailored to her needs.

About you

  • Patient, empathetic, and respectful of neurodivergent experiences.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to model practical strategies for daily living.
  • Experience supporting autistic or ADHD individuals is desirable but not essential — the right attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
  • Able to maintain appropriate boundaries and encourage independence.

What we offer

  • Flexible, supportive working environment.
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s journey towards independence.
  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with family.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 per week

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (preferred)

Work Location: In person
