Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician to provide maternity cover within our pharmacy team. The candidate must be registered with the GPHC. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient care during a temporary period, ensuring continuity of service and support. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with medication management, supporting pharmacy operations, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately under supervision, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Assist with medication administration, ensuring correct dosages and patient instructions are provided.
  • Support the pharmacy team in maintaining stock levels, organising supplies, and managing inventory.
  • Provide excellent patient care by answering queries, offering advice on medication use, and supporting overall patient wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support administrative tasks such as processing prescriptions, updating patient records, and managing documentation efficiently.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of pharmaceutical services during the maternity cover period.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician or similar role within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems.
  • Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Registration or accreditation with relevant professional bodies is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexibility to cover the specified maternity leave period with reliable attendance and punctuality.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Work Location: In person
