Therapy Team Leader – Bagshot Park Rehabilitation Services

Location: Bagshot

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £44,000 per annum

Are you an experienced and motivated therapist with leadership experience in a rehabilitation setting? We are seeking a Therapy Team Leader to oversee the daily operations of our dynamic therapy team at Bagshot Park Rehabilitation Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Management: Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the therapy team, including approval of annual leave, sickness management, and supervision under the guidance of the Clinical Head of Rehab Services.
  • Deputise for Clinical Head of Rehab: Step in to provide support and leadership during periods of absence, including overseeing the therapy team at other CHD Rehabilitation Services locations.
  • Support the Clinical Head of Rehab: Assist the Registered Manager and Clinical Head of Rehab Services as needed, ensuring smooth operation and consistent delivery of care across services.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior therapy staff and therapy assistants at Bagshot Park, ensuring high-quality care standards and fostering a supportive working environment.
  • Induction and Training: Actively contribute to the induction of new therapy team members, working closely with the Clinical Head of Rehab Services and Registered Manager to ensure proper support during orientation in line with the induction policy.
  • Specialist Expertise: Provide highly specialist knowledge and advice to patients and the therapy team. Be a resource of expertise for therapy staff, the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), and external agencies.
  • Leadership in Training: Lead and contribute to the development of the Neurorehab Study Day and deliver specialist training sessions to therapists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Therapy Meetings & Goal Setting: Coordinate and lead therapy goal-setting meetings, MDT meetings, and other relevant team meetings to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care.
  • Task Allocation & Completion: Appropriately allocate therapy-specific tasks to the team, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Preadmission Assessments: Lead neuro-rehabilitation preadmission assessments in collaboration with the nursing team, ensuring that admissions are appropriately managed and approved by the Clinical Head of Rehab Services.
  • Specialist Service Leadership: Lead a specialist area of clinical expertise and propose service changes that may impact the wider team, ensuring the safe delivery of a quality service.
  • Service Development: Identify, initiate, and implement service improvements in line with local and national guidelines to ensure the best outcomes for our patients and residents.

What You’ll Need:

  • Professional Qualification: Relevant degree in Therapy (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or similar).
  • Experience: Significant experience within a therapy setting, with a proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Specialist Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of neuro-rehabilitation, care management, and MDT working.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in supervising junior staff and managing day-to-day operations in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
  • Training & Development: Ability to contribute to staff training, both for new team members and as part of ongoing development.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and professionals.
  • Commitment to Quality Care: A passion for improving the lives of patients and delivering high-quality care in a rehabilitation setting.
