Cheese Factory Specialist Operator

Location: Scorrier, Redruth, Cornwall

Role: Permanent contract full time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £34,609.85 including night shift premium + benefits

Shift Pattern: 12hr shift, 06:00-18:00, 4 On, 4 Off, alternating Days & Nights.

Rodda’s is opening a brand-new, purpose-built cottage cheese facility – and we’re looking for exceptional leaders to run it. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a new production line, shape your team and play a leading role in launching a category-defining new product for a long standing, market leading brand.

You’ll learn and need to understand all the elements and equipment used in the cottage cheese manufacturing and packing process, ensuring tight control of key parameters such as temperature, pH, curd size, mix ratios and hygiene standards. You’ll conduct start-ups, produce the cottage cheese, complete calibrations to ensure we are achieving daily performance, yield and efficiency targets. You will also be trained in conducting basic maintenance tasks, and quality assurance.​

As a Specialist you will be responsible for following the procedures, have acute attention to detail and focused on producing a consistently exceptional product. Reliability, excellent attendance and the ability to step-up and take ownership at times will be required, as the teams will be small. ​

Requirements …

  • You must live in Cornwall, with easy commute to Scorrier, near Redruth
  • You must have extensive food production experience, ideally at a team leader level
  • You must be a technically capable operator who understands process control, food safety and quality systems​
  • You must be intellectually capable of being trained in basic engineering maintenance tasks​
  • You must be observant, detail conscious and meticulous
  • You must be hard working and happy to take on responsibility for the factory and the operation during both day and night shifts when covering for the Shift Manager.
