We’re seeking a Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to join our team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract or Secondment. In this pivotal leadership role within the Customer Management Centre (CMC) Risk & Compliance team, you’ll be responsible for shaping, embedding, and driving the risk management and compliance framework across the CMCs. Your expertise will ensure we meet and exceed regulatory, client, internal, and third-party requirements—acting as a key enabler for robust compliance and effective risk management.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Leading, developing and embedding a robust risk management framework across the CMCs and outsourced partner.
- Providing oversight of risks and issues, ensuring robust assurance and timely reporting to key stakeholders on the effectiveness of the control environment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Leading the identification, analysis, and evaluation of operational risks and controls across all areas of the Customer Management Centre, including our outsourced partner.
- Developing and monitoring key risk indicators to measure business performance against Currys’ risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
- Maintaining and reviewing Risk & Compliance policies, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.
- Collaborating with the CMC Leadership Team to design and implement operational best practices, process improvements, and enhanced controls.
You will need:
- Proven experience in risk assessment and/or compliance within a Retail and financial services environment; knowledge of Financial Services Regulations is highly desirable.
- Background in working with BPO/Outsource providers, ideally across multiple geographies.
- Strong track record in complex, fast-paced, customer-focused business environments.
- Exceptional collaboration, relationship-building, and influencing skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present recommendations confidently to senior leadership.
- Experience in managing remote teams effectively.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, able to simplify complex issues and deliver creative solutions for maximum impact.
- To be results-driven with a clear focus on initiating and delivering objectives through to completion.
It would be great if you had:
- Familiarity with risk and control frameworks (training will be provided on all relevant frameworks and policies).
