Salary: £32k circa

Hours: Full Time

Tenure: Fixed-term (12 months), with the possibility of extension or a permanent role.

Location: LDHQ, Westminster, London

PURPOSE OF JOB

Create and develop engaging and compelling content for the Leader of the Liberal Democrats’ digital channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work with colleagues to manage the Leader’s digital channels, including planning, creating and posting content.

2. Work with the Digital Communications Team to align the Leader’s digital activity with the party’s communications strategy and ongoing successful campaigns.

3. Capture digital content from visits and events with the Leader.

4. Maximise the Leader’s reach and engagement by using analytics to determine the most effective digital content and delivery.

5. Produce video, creating and developing compelling video content from concept to completion, including clipping, scripting, filming and editing.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

1. Experience of successfully managing social media channels for a high-profile organisation, brand, campaign or politician.

2. Exceptional copywriting, copy-editing and proofreading skills

3. A strong understanding of different digital channels and social media platforms.

4. Ability to work consistently to high professional standards, including accuracy, honesty, quality, and evidence.

5. Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

6. Ability to manage many different projects at once, from assignment through to delivery, in line with deadlines and sign-off procedures.

7. A strong understanding of the UK’s current political environment and how to engage with Liberal Democrat members and with voters.

8. Good visual design skills - able to produce high-quality, visually appealing content.

9. Strong photography and videography skills.

10. A commitment to the aims and values of the Liberal Democrats.

DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

1. Experience of using social media and web analytics tools to optimise content.

2. Experience of using graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Canva or Affinity.

3. Experience of using video editing software such as Premier Pro or Veed.
