We have an exciting opportunity for a caring and compassionate Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team working in our forensic low secure inpatient services based at the Redwoods Hospital in Shrewsbury.
We are seeking applications from first level registered Adult nurses who have successfully completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and will ideally be able to demonstrate knowledge of working in a mental health setting.
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner you be working with service users with a range of complex physical and mental health needs. You will be part of a Multidisciplinary team providing care to service users on Willow ward (Low secure male mental health rehabilitation ward). As an ACP you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and senior clinical leads and other ACP’s in the development of Advanced clinical practice across the service and in the delivery of high standards of safe and quality care
The successful candidate will work as an autonomous practitioner, utilising advanced knowledge, skills and expertise in relation to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a range of physical health and mental health conditions.
This exciting opportunity supports working within the four pillars of advanced practice: - education, clinical practice, leadership and research.
Advanced clinical practice is delivered by experienced, registered health and care practitioners. It is a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This is underpinned by a master’s level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competence.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will therefore be required to embody the ability to manage clinical care in partnership with individuals, families and carers. This will include the analysis and synthesis of complex problems across a range of settings, enabling innovative solutions to enhance people’s experience and improve outcomes.
Advanced nurse practitioners are highly experienced and educated members of the care team who can diagnose and treat conditions and refer onwards to appropriate specialists if needed.
As such the ACP will be expected to:
We have around 9,000 staff who provide physical and mental healthcare, support for people with learning disabilities, and adult social care across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin. We also run regional and national services, including help for new parents (perinatal care), eating disorders, forensic services, sexual health, and support for people in prison with mental health, drug, or alcohol problems.
