SENIOR BID MANAGER


Salary: Competitive

Working hours: Full Time, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm

Location: Home Based


G4S Facilities Management are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bid Manager to be responsible for securing major contracts, particularly within complex government services.

This role requires working with three business sectors (Employability, Contact Centres, and Facilities Management) to successfully convert multi-million pound opportunities. The manager will project manage the development of winning operational solutions and compelling commercial propositions, while ensuring the timely completion of all bid submission activities

Core responsibilities:

The role involves leading all bids and tenders, encompassing the following critical areas:


Strategy & Opportunity Capture

  • Ensure a complete understanding of opportunities, including key stakeholders, decision-makers, "hot buttons," competitors, and context.

  • Utilise this intelligence to enable effective opportunity capture and create a robust winning strategy.

  • Client Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients to successfully convert prospects into formal opportunities.


Project Management & Execution

  • Produce and manage comprehensive Bid Plans and Risk Registers.

  • Lead ‘bid/no bid’ negotiations in line with company procedures.

  • Lead and motivate the Bid Production Team, ensuring all milestones are reached in line with the bid plan.

  • Identify and coordinate all relevant internal workstream teams, including Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR, and Operations.


Quality & Governance

  • Proactively monitor and maintain high levels of quality and accuracy within bids and tenders.

  • Lead internal governance processes at the required approval levels.

  • Maintain up-to-date records, including the Salesforce CRM.


Market & Industry Knowledge

  • Stay abreast of industry/market trends, updates, and competitor activity within the relevant markets/sectors.

  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations.


Team, Process & Organizational Contribution

  • Champion the development, use, and continuous improvement of best practice bidding processes and tools for the team.

  • Lead and participate in Lessons Learnt sessions to drive continuous improvement across the Bid Team.

  • Build strong internal company relationships with key management personnel and departments.

  • Contribute to overall strategy development and deployment.

  • Contribute towards the achievement of Bid Team targets.

  • Provide people management, including supervision and development, as required by the team structure.



To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has-

  • Proven track record of growing business and successfully winning bids for the public sector.

  • Demonstrated experience within the Facilities Management (FM) industry.

  • Commercially focused, confident, self-driven, and inventive.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines while working effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and communicate complex ideas with confidence.

  • Experience in People Management (supervising and leading teams).



An APMP qualification & experience with CRM software (Salesforce) would be desirable but not essential
