About the Role

We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Supply Chain Manager to oversee supply chain operations across the Scotland & North of England region UK. This role ensures that sourcing activities and supplier performance align with both local needs and broader organisational objectives.

You’ll be responsible for setting the direction of supply chain strategy, developing and implementing category strategies, and managing the full sourcing lifecycle - from market analysis and supplier identification to tendering, negotiation, and contract management.

Travel will be required to various sites within Scotland & North England region.

What You'll be Doing

  • Leading medium to high complexity procurement events in compliance with central processes and relevant legislation.
  • Ensuring goods and services are procured efficiently and deliver value for money.
  • Building expert knowledge of the local supplier marketplace and engaging with suppliers that meet regional requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement through supplier performance initiatives.
  • Collaborating with central supply chain teams to align regional strategies with national goals.
  • Sharing insights on market conditions and contributing to centre-led category strategies.
  • Establishing clear communication channels and feedback loops across teams.
  • Recruiting, coaching, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Supporting team growth through mentoring, onboarding, and training.
  • Fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

Key Requirements and Experience

  • Experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain including a track record of continuous improvement and delivery of results
  • Applicants must demonstrate substantial experience in leading and developing high-performing teams within a supply chain environment.
  • Understanding and experience of key practices in full project/portfolio lifecycle supply chain management
  • Good level of knowledge of contracting suites including NEC
  • Experience in conducting supply chain activities inc. requirement definition, sourcing planning, supplier management, and competitive bidding
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain or similar discipline - desirable
  • MCIPS Chartered (or equivalent) - desirable
  • Full UK car driving licence
